bassinet safety information

Always lay baby on their back to sleep for naps and at bedtime.

Your baby’s bassinet should be completely empty, except for the mattress and fitted sheet. Don’t place bumpers, blankets, pillows or toys in the bassinet.

Don’t leave baby unattended.

Take baby out before moving the basket.

Bassinets should only be used until 3-4months of age, or until your baby can roll over (whichever comes first).

Make sure whatever mattress you choose is firm, and fits the bassinet (no more than 3 cm between mattress and edge of bassinet).

Health Canada recommends room sharing for the first 6 months of your baby’s life. Room sharing is when your baby sleeps within arm’s reach of where you sleep.

Please refer to Health Canada guidelines for more safety information.

Keep each other company, and enjoy the time you share.
